Professional Background
 
Melissa has a robust background in marketing. She began her entrepreneurial career in 2001 by establishing a successful promotional products business in Texas, which expanded to four major cities. In 2009, she relocated to Huntsville following her parents' retirement. With a B.A. in Public Relations and Marketing and a Master’s in Organizational Management, Melissa gained corporate marketing experience by working with industry leaders right here in Huntsville, Alabama. In 2021, she leveraged her extensive experience to launch MAC Global Promotions, serving the marketing needs of businesses across the country and expanding globally. Over her 25-year marketing career, she has developed a network of top-rated vendors and strong partnerships, ensuring a positive impact on her clients' businesses, with a keen focus on maintaining brand integrity.
 
Community Involvement and Achievements
 
Recognized for her entrepreneurial spirit, Melissa has been nominated for Entrepreneur of the Year by the Catalyst and has been accepted into the T.H.R.I.V.E. program, an entrepreneurial initiative based in Birmingham. This past April, she celebrated the three-year anniversary of MAC Global Promotions with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at their new location on Whitesburg Drive.
 
Melissa is actively involved in several organizations and holds leadership roles, including Diversity Lead at the American Advertising Federation of North Alabama and Secretary of Rocket City SGO (Scholarship Granting Organization), an organization that helps students access schools that best suit their needs.
 
Personal Life
 
Melissa appreciates Huntsville for its beauty and proximity to both the beach and mountains, despite the occasional tornado. She has a 24-year-old daughter pursuing a Master’s in Marine Biology at Texas A&M in Corpus Christi.
